Christmas

I know Christmas was quite awhile ago, but I still want to post about it. Better late than never, right?

We drove to California on the 21st and stayed in Primm, Nevada that night to split up the drive. We were SO glad to finally pull into the driveway. Even split up, that was a LONG drive! Logan and I showed up a little sick, and it lasted pretty much the entire time we were there. It kind of put a damper on the trip and Logan wasn't always very eager to let anybody but Mom hold or take care of him, but we were still able to have some fun.

The first big thing to note though was the midnight run to the ER for Logan. He had been breathing really hard and fast for awhile, and it reminded us a little bit too much of his previous hospital admission the year before and we didn't want to take any chances that he wasn't getting enough oxygen. We were in the ER for a few hours, but they sent us home with some medicine and steroids. We were glad it didn't turn into a hospital stay. And even better, our insurance covered the cost, minus the copay, which was not what we expected considering it was out of state. Whew!!!

Okay, now to the fun stuff we did!

Logan warmed up to the dogs more quickly than to anybody else. Good thing there are others out there who have dogs, because we never will!

The boys helped Grandpa make sugar cookies on Christmas Eve.

The Christmas Eve celebrations were at the Bell's house this year. We played some games, ate yummy dinner, and acted out the Nativity. We had a lot of fun.

The only way I could get Logan at all involved in the games with all these strangers was by holding him.

After everyone left we opened up our traditional Christmas Eve presents....pajama.

 We kept telling Logan that Santa would be coming and bringing him and everyone else presents. But Logan didn't want to hear it. He was adamant that he didn't want Santa to come. I was pretty sure that he'd change his mind once he walked in and saw the presents under the tree, but I still put him down wondering what in the world was wrong with my 2 year old.

 And it took him a little while to catch on to the excitement, but eventually he did.

 Logan took it upon himself to help Grandpa pass out presents. It was very cute.

 The beautiful hand carved zebra Grandma and Grandpa Lombardi sent all the way from Swaziland.

 And BY FAR Logan's favorite gift. He plays with this track constantly.

 We started doing one of the puzzles he got, until Nathan went outside to try out his new bike.

 

Later that night all the women, and Jeremy, went to Les Miserables. We all loved it. And Logan went down like an angel for Grandpa. Even reminded him that he needed to brush his teeth and say his prayers. So cute.

The next day we went on the Niles Canyon Train Ride. They decorate every car on the train for Christmas, the outside of the train is covered in Christmas lights, and we ride on it for over an hour. It was a lot of fun. Again, it took Logan until about halfway through to finally accept that he was having fun and didn't need me to constantly hold him. Once that happened though, he was in heaven!

 

A few days later we went to the Children's Discovery Museum in San Jose. Lots and lots of fun things for the kids to do (and a whole lot of kids there enjoying it!) We were there a few hours and had a lot fun.

 This city of boxes was easily Logan's favorite part. Who needs toys when you've got boxes?-+

It was so nice to be able to celebrate Christmas in California with the family. Logan LOVED playing with his cousins that he doesn't get to play with very often. Nathan and Logan became fast friends and Logan still calls it "Nathan's house." We love the few times every year that we get to be with Jeremy's side of the family and always look forward to them.
