Last Sunday we went and walked around the Salt Lake Temple. It's something we've been wanting to do for quite awhile, but either the weather didn't cooperate or we had other things planned. Other than the obvious reasons for taking a visit to Temple Square, the reason we've wanted to go is because in Jeremy's mission scriptures there was this picture of the First Presidency and 12 Apostles (when President Hinckley was the prophet) standing in front of the large Christus in the Visitor's Center and Logan found it. We've kept it out and every time he looked at it he'd ask "Can we go there?" When we told him we were finally going to the temple and we could see the "big Jesus" he was so excited! And it was a beautiful day.
The only time Logan ever gets a nap now is in the car. Power naps!
The kid loves to be in a stroller.
We did our best to explain some things to him, like the Angel Moroni and how Mommy and Daddy got married in the temple and we get to be a family for always.
The "big Jesus!"
Logan has noticed the holes in Jesus' hands, so we showed him a picture of the crucifixion and how He also has holes in his feet. It's difficult but also kind of enlightening in a way to try to explain these things to a 3 year old.
I forget how lucky we are to be so close to this temple, and so many others. I need to try to take more frequent visits to the temple, not just myself to do temple work, but also to take Logan and make sure he understands how important they are.
